Can u have a drink while taking peniquil?

Gosh, you can still drink....my health forbids it or I pay for it....also rather take my calories & have a chocolate as a treat 😄....

See if meds have that long sheet in it or ask pharmacist who are oh so kind to us & full of knowledge....ml

I'm not familiar with any medication called 'peniquil'. Do you mean Plaquenil (ie. hydroxychloroquine)?

It is generally fine for most people with lupus to drink alcohol in moderation, although some people may find it makes them feel unwell and will avoid it. The be safe, it is best to check with your pharmacist whether any medications you are taking may contraindicate alcohol.

Sure you can. You won’t feel your best. The backlash might be something you’d rather not go through.

IMHO it’s like my dad who was told to stop smoking or he’d get COPD. Well he got it. He’s dying.

I’m on Plaquenil and I’ve never been told to avoid alcohol or chocolate. I don’t drink that much but a glass of bubbly suits me just fine! I have chocolate just about daily.
