I’m still trying to work out if it’s the sun or heat!

Last night was sooo hot and I barely had any sleep and woke up with weird rashes this morning around my neck .

This must be heat triggered. Stay cool . Keep your hair and feet as cool as you can . I wet my hair often and put feet in water.

Of course impossible if your at work

X

I’m certain the heat has a lot to do with it the sun usually makes my joints bad and my hand very bad due to working outdoors as my aunt would say it’ll have it’s bout out

I live in the states where 35 plus 90 percent humidity is par for the course through out July and August and lately even in September. We do have Ac everywhere now but growing up we did not. Fans in my pre Ac days were a god send. I still love ceiling fans even with Ac. A free standing dehumidifier, by drawing out the humidity, will act like Ac if you do not have it, Also drawing the blinds and curtains during the hottest hours of sun help keep my home five to ten degrees cooler in the dog days of summer. Extra water is a must and ice on pulse points help too. I think this is our future sadly. The Ac market will make great profits in the uk in the next few years I am guessing. :(

Dear Ian, of course because you work outside a lot this weather must be really tough for you!!!! 🌞😕 I have a very large, wide brimmed straw hat to protect against the UV and religiously put it on now because when I forgot one day recently I got red welts at the base of my neck. Thanks for the heads up on the cool towel. My thoughts are with you.......very best regards, Lily

Where can I find a cool towel to buy ? No garden centre available. Brand name ?

I’m using facecloths, soaking them, then wrapping them around my neck. A separate one for my dog - although he’s a short haired doggy who hates water, he doesn’t object to a cool flannel.

A tea towel might do the job as well.

The microfibre towels I have are used for drying my hair because they suck up the water.

Hi. I think you're a star for even going outside in this heat - never mind going outside to work. Unbelievable!!!!

Totally understandable!! Enjoy a spot of cool if you can....

If this year returns another thing I have found useful is remembering that I had two frozen gel packs in freezer used for sprains ,inflammation , etc. I put behind my back when sitting. Opposite of a hot water bottle !
