Sorry to learn that you are having trouble applying for a Blue Badge. Have you tried to contact Lupus UK as the organisation is knowledgable about this and will either resolve your issue or be able to advise where you can seek help on this matter. Citizens Advice may also be able to help. Have you spoken to or contacted your local MP as he might be able to help too. I hope this helps. Good luck and let us know how you get on. Dessi72 x

Kriss53,

Agree with Dessi72, sorry to hear you are finding it hard applying for a blue badge.

Good to get help, citizens advice may help.

You have to think about how you are on a bad day, you need them to understand how bad things get.

I got turned down in the beginning and then appealed the person who came to visit was shocked that my application had been refused, he approved my application. You may be able to walk well on some days but I think their criteria is 20metres.

Good luck with your application and keep us posted.

Hi kriss53. Do you have an adult social worker it’s done via social care direct on 0345 850 3503 they can fill out the paperwork for you as they know how tricky the forms are. Do you need help with care if so research Pendrells’s if they are in your area as they are really good at getting you the help you need and It’s a godsend having that permit if your unwell and cant walk far. I wish you well. Take care. 😀

The thing that decided it for me was being on biologics for my RA. That signalled the severity. I hope you succeed.

Hi Kriss, our local GP surgery has an allocated person who is a point of contact for carers and can give advice on what could be worth applying for based on your notes and they help with applications for such things as blue badges. It could be worth a try contacting your go and clarifying if they have someone similar that could help.

Regards
