Hi everyone,

Over the past couple of months we've been receiving an increasing number of enquiries from people who are struggling to get hold of the brand of hydroxychloroquine that they need (most commonly Zentiva or Blackrock). The conversation has come up in this community a few times and we have confirmed that there is no manufacturing or supply issue at present.

To help answer all of your questions on this topic and provide you with an information sheet to hand to your prescribing doctor and/or pharmacist we have updated and improved the Q&A on our website. This can be accessed at lupusuk.org.uk/hydroxychlor...

To help us better understand how many people are being affected by this problem, we have also created an online survey which will be open for the next two weeks. We would like as many people who take hydroxychloroquine as possible to complete it please (18+ and UK-based only please).

while my pharmacist says they will get zentiva for me I had to wait 3 weeks for it last month, luckily I have a spare box.

That is a long time to wait and it was fortunate you had some available. Clearly it may be necessary to arrange with pharmacists to place the order well in advance in some cases.

I asked if they could order more as I would be taking it for life but they said no. blamed zentiva for the delay.
