... I started mmf a month ago and was given a generic myco rather than cellcept, but it did have a brand name starting with "m" . When I got my new prescription yesterday I took it to a different pharmacist to be filled and was given a different generic - this one had no brand name at all. Last night i had terrible diaorrea. I had been tolerating the myco previously, and I'm supposed to be adding an extra dose today, moving up to twice a day and I'm feeling very apprehensive!
My question is can changing generic do this? And what should I do?
I have a presentation I'm supposed to be giving this afternoon and I'm worried about how I will be feeling, I think I'll have to start the increase tomorrow which is really annoying because I desperately need to get my symptoms under control since stopping aza in December so need to ramp up the dose. 😕

Very difficult situation, you need to contact the pharmacy and show them the link. There are always lead times to get hold of these drugs, hope you have some drugs left.
Your GP should help you, although they don’t always understand the branding issues. Don’t know if anyone has any better ideas.
My Consultant Rheumatologist clearly prescribed Cellcept on my GP letter but my GP prescribed generic. I’m a little fussy and insisted on Cellcept brand as instructed. All the research studies I read were completed with Cellcept so I insisted on this. My GP was very happy to amend the script.
I was also affected when Plaquenil stopped producing supply and now have had to settle for generic as no alternative. I have experienced various side effects on other generic brands of Plaquenil but have now found a suitable alternative.
I have a great clinical Pharmacologist at GPs and also great support at my local pharmacy. Don’t be afraid to chat about your symptoms and ask Gap to consider amending to preferred brand that suits you.
The consultant does the prescription, apparently my GP can't. I was ok with the one I had before even though not cellcept.
My problem now is that I have these generics that have 2 missing and I want to swap them but don't know if they will. I think I'm going to go to the pharmacy and explain. I will ask them to get different ones. - it's not my usual pharmacy Which is the problem, I was being lazy and used the one in my supermarket. In future i will use my normal pharmacy.
