Well, I got the nail treatment done again, it has gotten to the point I hate having to do nails, yes fingers and toes. However, if I don’t, my nails will crack, split, peal, and or just come off! The effects of Lupus! I am uncomfortable having to do this, especially being a guy and what looks like nail polish, especially, when I have to go barefoot 100% of the time even in public. I subconsciously am always trying to hide my nails. Yes, it is embarrassing for me! But, we do what we have to do! This is when I remember my motto.

“Lupus has changed my life, but, I will not let Lupus control my life”

On a brighter note: It is amazing I use the same brand nail treatment (Prescripton from pharmacy) but, each time I get a new bottle, the color is different? It is supposed to be a natural nude color, but as you can tell by the photo, it is not. This looks white! It can be a pail pink for one bottle, the next bottle could be an almost bright pink? I wonder if the spring color will be green or yellow! 😂😂

Wouldn’t I just look great with green nails!😂

Maybe I got some one to smile?😊♥️👣

Wishing Everyone A Good, no make that a GREAT Day!

Tiras you are amazing, thank you for sharing your pictures, though heartbreaking to see they are. I wish with all my heart that your problems can be, if not cured, then made better. xx

You got someone to be jealous!!! I have a "thing" about horrible feet - I so wish my husband's feet, especially nails, looked as nice as yours!

Thank you!

I understand completely, I can’t stand to see unkept feet! With me having to go barefoot, even if I didn’t have to use a Nail treatment, I wold keep feet neat and clean! I wouldn’t put what looked like polish, clean, neat, & trimmed.

However there are times when out doing firewood, farm chores, etc, my feet do get extremely dirty, but, I don’t go out in public with them that way.

Actually you might be surprised at how many people actually compliment me on my feet and nails l

I’ve even had a couple of ladies ask if I would do their nails, fingers and toes!😂 the answer is NO! I hate doing it. However, I will do Laura’s occasionally.

Wishing you a good Sunday!

Hey, I see men all the time getting their pedicures these days. My brother likes getting pedicure gift cards so that he can get his feet massaged. So you are have a lot of company! I wouldn’t have noticed the color — looks neutral. Keep making me smile! 😀

Oh, yes, now I do like feet massages! So relaxing!

I do have to go 1 a month for the medical pedicure, basically a souped up spa pedicure. The foot massage is longer. I have seen especially guys who are diabetic get pedicures also.

Yes, that makes sense that diabetics would have to take special feet treatments. I used to feel ridiculous at the gym with my spray bottle that I used on my face to stay cool, but pretty soon I forgot about it and wondered why anyone would do a double take. Now I have a mini fan — my most prized possession. Goes with me everywhere. I met a young person in a neighborhood coffee bar and she said, « Oh, I see you in the walking around with your fan. » I guess to everyone I am just the « fan lady. » 😂

There is nothing wrong with that, you would not be the first person I’ve seen do that.

I guess we all have our own special signature, You the fan lady me the barefoot garden. It just goes to show, we are all unique in our own way, but, yet still the same.♥️😊

Hi Tiras.

Just want to say a big thank you for your post. I have suffered years with my nails especially toe nails. They are horrid cracking and peeling off. Hadn't realised this could be another lupus gift!😈 Funny how having a reason for something makes it seem more bearable. Xx

You are welcome, just to know some one got help and an answer is what it is all About.

My dermatologist told me to try a high end over the counter nail treatment? It may or not work, but would be a lot less expensive. I pay $78 US dollars for the. Prescription treatment and that is with insurance. Good over the counter nail treatment is $12 to 15 Dollars. I think I’m going to give it a try. Might be a good idea for you to try?

Hope you have a great day!♥️

Ps. My nails are back to normal now, I’ve been using the treatment for a little over a Year.

Dear Tiras,

Don't be EMBARRESSED about your feet, they look neat and 'Well Kept'! Show them off, with Pride, no really.

I DO fully understand, you feeling 'Awkward' about this however. Some years ago now I was 'saying' similar, to a Lady, who was experiencing Alopecia (hair loss)- in many ways Girls Losing Their Hair, is similar to Men Wearing 'Nail Polish'. Neither are 'The Norm' but, when it comes down to it, So what!

By the way....When you get a BRIGHT PINK bottle, please Do 'Post' a picture!

Thank you, for sharing this Tiras.
