Hi everyone, I've recently had several courses of antibiotics for chest Infections and uti's. I have very mild symptoms of thrush at the moment, and have been given pessaries to treat it because I'm going abroad for 4 wks and GP thought I should have some with me. I still have 4 days of antibiotics left, and then a course of low dose prophylactic antibiotics for 4 wks. What I would like to know is should I wait until I finish the main course before using the pessaries?
Treating thrush: Hi everyone, I've recently had... - LUPUS UK
Treating thrush
Depends on how the Thrush is progressing ......sometimes you get the start of Thrush symptoms then the good bugs take over ...& it clears up...but if it continues to get worse I'd use the pedsaries straight away.
If you are going somewhere you might not be able to get exact replacements, ask your pharmacist to write down what other drugs would be suitable..
The prophylactic ab's are obviously less likely to cause the problem...so hopefully if you can get over the next four days you should be OK.
Thanks AgedCrone for responding, that's very helpful.
Personally for thrush
You can’t beat using a tampon soaked in natural yogurt if you have it down there 👇🏼 If your on antibiotics it most likely won’t go until you finish your course x
Thanks lisalou, I'm also being treated for vaginal atrophy. Would the pessaries interfere with this?
