BLOODY NIGHTMARE : Hi to all the ladies who will... - LUPUS UK
BLOODY NIGHTMARE
Hi I had an issue with bleeding at the beginning of the year. I ended up needing a few blood transfusions and lots of iron. Please see you go and ask if you could take something to slow the flow. I was put on mefanamic acid and transaemic acid (most probably spelt wrong sorry). I was also put on medroxyprogesterone which I am still on. The hospital wanted me to go through with ablation and having a mirena coil. Not what I want. I'm hoping I can just wait out until menopause happens. But you definitely want to see your gp. Good luck.
Thank you us women goin through so much its like seeing 10. diff people before they finally realise we have a problem tkc xxx
I had an ablation. Refused hysterectomy. It worked out well.
I don't want anything done and I told them that but they still think I should have it done. It would be nice if they actually try to find out what was causing the problem before any surgery. I hopefully will be able to wait it out until menopause. I've had coils in the past but they fall out with days/weeks. X
It would be really lovely if there was one person that could join the dots and make us better! Tranexamic acid is the thing to stop very heavy blood loss. I would be housebound for a couple of days each month without it. Go to GP and ask.
Hi Naz! It took a few years of going to the GPs about 'flooding'/crippling pain and being ignored - one GP roared 'PAIN? YOU'RE PAIN WILL GO AWAY' 😲 - before a nurse put it in my notes that it was affecting my work...then I was magically offered a Mirena, which has been an absolute godsend xxx
