I was just wondering.....I don't suffer with Lupus, but a very dear lady to me does, and she has these rashes of dry skin on her legs, and it reminded me of a time as a teenager, I suffered the most terrible eczema. It was every where and the itch had me scratching way past a blood flow, and deep down into the layers of my skin, Nothing the doctors gave me worked, and nothing my mum bought from the chemist worked! I was a mess and I hated it so much I cried myself to sleep having almost scratched myself to the bone...…. One day, my Dad came up to me, and told me he had had enough of seeing me this way and wanted to try something. I had a very violent and bloody rash on both my cheeks, and he told me that during ww2, they used sulphur on the wounded, and he asked me to let him try. I agreed of course, my Dad wouldn't hurt me, and he sprinkled this yellow stuff on to my cheeks. Within a few days, I had the most awful pus filled yellow rash on my face, and I was broken...… But, after a few weeks, the rash had gone, and what's more, so did the itch and the need to scratch! We put that yellow stuff on all my scratched and bloody skin, and just as my face had cleared up, so did the rest of me!!! And apart from one or two episodes with the Army Issue KF Shirt (the really hairy and itchy ones) giving me a rash on the back of my neck, the eczema has cleared up completely...… My dad got the powder from his shed and used it on his flowers, it was called Flower of Sulpher….. I am wondering If any one on here has tried a sulphur based ointment and had a good result?

Skin Lesions and itchy rash
Haven't suffered the itchy rash or had to do anything with sulphur. But just a thought.... is she loading up on sulphur containing foods. That would be where I would start.
And I would be cutting back on dairy and sugary foods
Hi there!, No her diet is pretty good and she doesn't do sugar or dairy very much. I just wanted to help her a bit more, and something inside me screams sulphur ointment. Not being a sufferer myself, I just thought I'd ask here first whether anyone has tried this, there is also a good bit of info online supporting sulphur (but I don't completely believe some of them American web sites). People on here are real, so I'm asking here first.
Hi, I also posted at the beginning of the week about my skin driving me crazy on my face. I have discoid lupus and RA. I had an interesting chat with a Skin nurse/beautician yesterday who mentioned a chemical in a lot of products including shampoos, cleaning items, washing powder, fabric conditioners etc. Methyhisothiazilinone. I found it in both my shampoo and conditioner. The rash also coincides with me having a new shower fitted and I now wash my hair under the shower as opposed to over the bath. It may be coincidence but today is day one of trying to eliminate it. It’s even in some baby products. There’s a lot of info on skin reactions on the internet. It may be worth looking into. I’ve just bought child’s farm to use for the next few days to see how it goes x
I hope you find a solution. I don't have a problem myself, but know what it's like to scratch till it bleeds... My Girlfriends son is a GP, and I asked him about the Sulphur.... He said 'Try it' … I have found just the ointment I was looking for on Amazon (only £4 plus delivery of course) and Boots sell a Sulphur based soap, I intend to do all I can to at least help her where I can.
I dont have lupus but do suffer from itchy rash.
