I have hasimoto thyroid. And my doctor has identified me under the UCTD category (ANA 1:320 all other tests like antids dsna are negative ) . I've no symptoms like fever, rash, fatigue. But I have a lot of hairfall, like i've lost 50% of my hair. I want to know is there any medicine that i can take to stop my hair fall. When will my hair return back to normal ? will it ever return back to normal ? I'm very concerned for my hair. Please can someone help me out.
I'm currently on Levothyroxine(25 mg), prednisolone(5mg) and Planqueil (1 tablet daily)

That is so distressing to be losing your hair. I think you should see a dermatologist. Your hair loss could be from your illness or something else. He will likely be in contact with your rheumatologist to get a full picture. I had mild hair loss, which is common in older women, and had platelet injections to stimulate hair growth. It worked. Vitamin deficiencies and other blood abnormalities could cause hair loss too. You need the support of a dermatologist to sort this out and, I hope, treat it.
I'm just 22 years old. My dermat has prescribed some multivitamins but they just dont seem to work . Im worried for my hair. I dont want to lose it at such an early age
There are dermatologists who specialize in hair loss. You might want to ask your rheumatologist if you could be referred to one. Really hope they determine the cause and treat it successfully.
