I am curious as to whether breast pain is in some way related to lupus?
it is not related to menstrual cycle and i am not pregnant.
Over around 20 days it has gradually got worse to the point moving my arms hurt them (and I'm not big breasted) and today i can't even cuddle my children.
I do intend going to the GP tomorrow although i will say i really don't want to.
Is it connective tissue? Is it just part and parcel of lupus?
Thanks.

I used to get terrible breast pain before a period. I think for me it was a hormonal imbalance. It tended to come and go over the years. I don't get it now (on Lupus meds and on low carb diet), though I do feel Lupus symptoms more before a period.
Lupus presents differently in everybody, therefore, no two people will share the exact same experience i.e. one person may experience pain in a particular area whilst another person may not experience any joint/muscle aches and pains at all.
Did you manage to speak to your GP about this? The NHS Choices' website provides a helpful overview of some of the causes of breast pain: nhs.uk/conditions/breast-pain/
Connective tissue diseases cover a wide range of autoimmune conditions such as lupus Antiphospholipid syndrome. To learn more about connective tissue diseases, click here: rnhrd.nhs.uk/uploads/files/...
thank you for the info. I got my answer though - I was convinced my period was u related as the pain cane at the end of it and carried on for another week afterwards - but lo and behold I got another period, then the pain subsided. According to the NHS website they do not seem concerned with that unless it happens for 2-3 consecutive months. I wondered if maybe uctd/lupus can cause fluctuations in hormones?
Hi Cathylou, you're welcome. It is common for lupus activity to be related to the menstrual cycle. Therefore symptoms can flare up during and around the time of the period.
Hi. I too get breast pain. Had abnormal mammogram. But they said was inflammatory due to lupus and mixed connective tissue disease. That was local hospital. Prof Cruz in London, also agreed, but getting x rays from local hospital xxx
