Iv steroid

Good morning all

I'm in hospital since Friday on a 200mg steroid infusion every 6 hours try get my cough variant asthma under control if my symptoms improve I hoping that after the 48 hours they can start reducing them. Anyone any info or experience they can share with me

Hi, I have been in hospital 6 times since last August and each time had a 5 day course of iv steroids. Only symptoms I experienced was weight gain and extreme hunger. The 2 probably linked as I was eating so much I was bound to put on weight! Hope you feel better soob

Thanks Alex 97 so far so good did u have a taper down from the iv steroid if you don't mind me asking

Hi, no it was a straight 5 days of Iv steroids, same disageand they didn t give me oral steroids after. I started another flare last Wednesday and they wanted to admit me again for IV steroids again but I couldn t face going into hospital again so they have put me on 60mg oral and he said he would be tapering these down steroids seen to be the only thing that stops my flares. Hope you are feeling better
