Metal taste

Is it me or dose anybody else get a horrible metal taste in there mouth I can’t get rid of it

I’ve had it on several occasions and have told rumi consultant but the gp will tell them next time I’m there

Yes, it's one of the symptoms of 'Burning Mouth Syndrome' often associated with autoimmune conditions such as SLE. The mouth can be extra dry with it. Not a pleasant experience but sucking a sweet (maybe sugar free) will ease the symptoms. Mine comes and goes. And it can get worse if I am talking too much!!

Always get checked out at the dentist/doctor in case it is an infection. You can get a gel from the doctor to ease the dryness too - if you have that.

Thank for the reply at rumi next month so will ask consultant and you are right it’s nasty feels like I’m sucking a 50p

I had that taste when I was on Methotrexate....it went away when I stopped taking it.

I found drinking weak apple squash seemed to neutralise it.
