cant stop coughing

havent been on for ages, but just want to know if anyone has a cough mine mostly starts at night its like a build up of mucus and cant seem to get rid of it this drives everyone mad at home lol and i get so fed up with it i go to bed just to get out the way ......

Me too ! Had a cough since July but this last week I've been up every night. So wearing ! I dread going to bed because I know as soon as I lie down I can't stop. It's driving my husband mad. Hope it soon subsides for you.

Can you try antihistamines?or night nurse syrup,I find them a life saver.Sandy

I had a long persistent cough earlier in the year and felt dreadful.

Was diagnosed with adult whopping cough after 6 weeks. It was too late

To have a blood test by my cough disappeared after 13 weeks exactly as the

Doctor predicted.

Might want to get it checked out.

Get to the doctors!! As you know Lupus can cause some nasty chest complications so please get it checked out. xx Jo

Also, avoid dairy products as they build up mucus. Hope you feel better soon.

I have had a cough now for over 3 weeks, i had a one earlier in the year and the doctor gave me antibiotics.

This time i cannot have any more tablets and i do not see another gp till 20th of this month.

Like you it drives me mad, had to go to my meeting at job centre and he let me go earlier as i could not even talk without coughing.

I was unaware that lupus can cause chest complications.

Hopefully when i see this doctor he may be able to give me something.

My cough has been off & on for so long now I couldn't even begin to guess when it started. I did have a chest x ray when it 1st started, which was clear. Trouble is when I cough I sound like a dog that's swallowed a squeaky toy x

hi all i also had the cough its getting that bad my ribs are hurting me from all the coughing it horrid at night sometimes it takes my breath away and then the panic starts my gp seems to think it just a virus im not conviensed

i do live in hope that one day i will be normal as sle has taken over but i will keep strong and carry on
