In response to posts about others not understanding how we feel, to aid my rheumatologist consultation next week and just to check I wasn’t making this all up, I decided to do a bit of colouring in of my symptoms as they happened over the last 6 hours. Perhaps not as colourful as some of yours would be!
Quite therapeutic though perhaps not on the same scale as a mindful colouring book (or even better one of the magic colouring books using just water or a cut out dressing up doll)
Shown it to my daughter and my partner, who seemed slightly surprised.
Not going to do it often as it could become fairly self indulgent but it has made me very aware of my own body.
Interesting.

No, no, no! Why do people think it’s ‘just getting older’? My husband has said this to me too. Along with my body has changed since childbirth so don’t think every ache and pain is something wrong.
I love the idea of the colouring in though to help show symptoms. Let us know what your rheumatologist thinks.
(I’m undiagnosed and waiting for my appointment to come through)
Update- map is great for telling family friends what it feels like. However, Mr miserable consultant wasn’t as impressed with my colouring in. I suspect he thinks I’m a nutter.
