Hi... so as u know from first post I was diagnosed with Lupus in January and also pregnant.

I was admitted to hospital again on the 31st January due to a problem with the placenta blood flow...2nd February I went into premature labour resulting in a emergency c section at 31 weeks..uterus ruptured and baby was in stomach.... gave birth to a baby girl weighing 3lbs. She is in neonatal unit and I am back home recovering after having 2 operations. 1 c section then had to be opened up again due to blood clot. Thankfully I am now ok.

Lupus is under control but I'm still taking medication. Doctors said rupturing may be due to lupus due to weakening of tissues....can this be correct?

Would love to hear feedback from anyone who has been through the same.

Hi congratulations on the birth of your daughter. I had a c-section for both my children my 1st I was on bed rest from about 4 months as I had high blood pressure swollen ankles & went into larbour early .my 2nd I had a ruptured uterus I wasn't diagnosed with lupus till later & the Dr thinks I was having a flare but didn't know then .

All the very best to you both. My first daughter was born at 31+ weeks and 1300g/2lb 13oz though it wasn't as traumatic as your experience - she is now a neonatal nurse herself.

Congratulations, I hope you are both well now. I am lucky enough to have four children and wasn't diagnosed with lupus until after the births although the doctors believe I had it during this time. Each of my pregnancies were delivered earlier than the one before. The last at 31 weeks. She was a twin. I lost the twin earlier in the pregnancy but with bedrest kept my daughter. I did not have the trauma you experienced. Lupus can affect any of our systems and strain a pregnancy places on our bodies can be problematic. All of my children are fit and well. All the best.

Hi RahanaBi98 ,

Congratulations on the birth of your daughter! How are you both getting on?

I'm afraid I don't have any information relating to lupus weakening tissues so I cannot be of assistance with this. Perhaps you could ask your doctor or nurse for more information at a future appointment?
