PIP Christmas Bonus

PIP Christmas Bonus

I got my DWP letter today saying I'd get my Β£10 extra pressie for this month. If I remember correctly, the bonus used to be for pensioners to buy their Christmas dinner many moons ago.

What to spend it on? The cost of food I can eat is very little, so Blue may get his next warm ears cowl made from something more exotic than the cheapest acrylic. Softer on my hands, anyway πŸ‘

By the way, I'm not keen on dressing dogs up, but his ears get as cold as my hands and feet. He loves it and has no idea he looks somewhat ...... ridiculous πŸ˜‚

  • OH BLUE ❀️❀️❀️❀️❀️ you are ADORABLE...PLEASE keep these pics of Blue coming, LK πŸŒŸπŸŒŸπŸŒŸπŸŒŸπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Sending you both LOTS of love πŸŽ„βœ¨πŸŒˆπŸŒ™πŸ˜˜πŸ€

  • What a wonderful hat/ cowl just perfect for chilly ears.

Some lovely soft merino wool would be a treat especially if holding a wee aroma of sheepy still there! ( or maybe not!)

    A hug for Blue.x

  • The last one in Fisherman's Wool had plenty of sheepy lanolin in it. Helps with waterproofing, but repels visitors πŸ˜‚

  • Ten whole quids? Blimey, Richard Branson eat your heart out! What to do with such a bonzanza? First - obvs - is a bar of Lindt Lindor Milk Chocolate - for your body. (yes I know its got gluten and dairy and baby orang-utans in it, but it is still the food of gods). Next, a used copy of Goldfrapp's "Felt Mountain" (Β£2 on amazon inc P&P) - for your soul. This leaves you enough change to send a small package expressing your thanks to the DWP for all they have done for the poor and people with disabilities this year. Blue can definitely help you out with providing the contents for such a package. That takes care of your spiritual needs.

    Job done! x

  • You such splendid ideas for making a tenner go so far Mike. This is one to be carefully considered x

  • I don't think he looks ridiculous...I think he's looking very grateful that someone has at last found something to keep his ears warm!

  • Anyone on benefits gets the Β£10 Christmas bonus so just imagine how much that is , I'm amazed the dwp haven't stopped it yet as part of their benefit cuts .

  • Must say I'm suprised, too. I've just googled it, to discover there were a handful of one off Β£10 payments in the 70's, and it only became permant in 1979. The amount has never been raised. My visiting economics expert ( Number One Son) says that the equivalent now would be Β£52.80, based on the RPI index .

So, the Govt is saving in a way. There will be people who can really use the tenner, little as it seems to a fortunate like me.

  • Wow, what a life changing sum lupi. Please don't let it change you and beware of the begging letters.

Loving blues attire, he's a stunner and is looking very happy and contented. X
