I have recovereved from a 24 hour stomach bug recently. By recover I mean I now have a bit of a mucus cough, sore throat, runny/ blocked nose and a mild headache.
This to me sounds like I have some kind of common mucus cough thing going on but I don't seem to be experiencing any signs of a flare up. I don't seem to have a temperature, no major joint pain. A little fatigue but I reckon that's from coughing through the night.
I was wondering if it is possible to be ill but not be experiencing a flare up of Lupus?

So sorry to read you've had these bugs going round!. There's a lot of it at the moment. It is possible to have a bug and not flare. Shows how well your lupus treatment is working if you don't flare !. I also can find I flare once I'm over the infection not when I've got it!. It's hard to differentiate sometimes as symptoms can be so similar!. Hope that's helpful and your better soon. If your mucus is green and you have cough and chest pain then you need to be checked by your GP for a chest infection!. Also important to be GP checked when I'll like this if on steroids or immuno-suppressives!. What treatment are you on?.
Do hope your better soon and my reply has been helpful. X
I'm no longer on steroids but I think some of my medication is immunosuppressive. However seem to be handling illness well Thank you for sharing with me, I really hope you have been able to keep well this winter! X
That's great that your doing well penguintaz. Glad your off the steroids, that's a great achievement. I've had same cold, cough and only slight flare so doing well too thanks for asking. Take care X
I've nothing useful to add to misty14 's reply. Just wanted to say, "Me too!" - I'm currently coughing so much that small screws and pieces of plastic are being dislodged from my superstructure and the cat has told me to "stop moping around you old misery and look at the snow!" I don't seem to have any flare-type symptoms though.
Sorry to see you have the lurgy too!. It's been rife I think this year!. I had it too and it can make you feel lousy so I hope you feel better soon with the top nursing assistance of your cat!. Hope your chest copes . How's hedgewig, is he still coming or hopefully hibernating now you have snow!. We're just feeding Harry as the adults have gone to bed. Feel like joining them!. All the best X
Thanks misty, good to hear that you got over your bout. There's been no sign of Hedgewig for the last few weeks - hope Harry gets through the winter OK. Today the snow has driven a flock of Chaffinches into the garden from the surrounding farmland, and in amongst them, a single Brambling. I've been trying to get a photo to post here, but they are too flighty. x
