Pain in groin left side down inside of leg and behind knee
Could this be nerve or tendon pain perhaps? Have you got an autoimmune diagnosis and are you seen by Rheumatology regularly? Are your inflammation levels high in your blood?
I have similar sounding pain on and off. My initial diagnosis was RA as inflammation always high and had bilateral hand pain with swelling and stiffness. Then diagnosis changed to Sjögren’s last year and I now think that small fibre neuropathy and tendinitis caused by systemic inflammation of autoimmunity account for most of my pain over the past 7 years. The only thing that ever shows up in imaging is osteoarthritis but bloods, spinal fluid and lip biopsy all told a different story. I have found that gentle exercise (walking and Pilates) and Mycophenolate have all helped the arthralgia side of things.
Hi Kekega
I have similar groin pain to you and it's awful how severe it is!. Mine has come from an emergency op needed causing femoral nerve damage. I've had the most help from a pain clinic as they can prescribe different painkillers and offer treatments like injections. I have injections three times a year for it , having them today. What pain relief do you take?. I do take Gabapentin as its a good nerve painkiller. I feel for you with this as its so painful so I hope you get better help soon. X
Hi KekeGa ,
I'm sorry to hear that your doctors have been unable to find the cause of this pain. Are they still doing further investigations?
I'm afraid that I am not medically qualified so I cannot advise what the cause may be.
We do have a blog article about pain management which has lots of tips which you may find helpful - lupusuk.org.uk/pain-managem...
Aw poor you, sending hugs as don’t really have an answer xx
Have you ever been evaluated by a physiotherapist? They can be very helpful in finding the cause of chronic pain. I find that doctors just try to treat you with painkillers if nothing shows up on scans or xrays.
