Pain in rib cage and back on left side
It could be pleurisy. They usually don't do too much for it unless you really are having trouble breathing or it is terribly painful. But be sure to tell your rheumy on your next appointment, since it is a lupus symptom.
Possibly Costochondritis? Acutely painful, inflammatory in origin, often hard to differentiate from pleuritic pain. I have it regularly, severely. It's worth getting checked out by your gp just for oeace if mind. Hope it settles soon. Clare
I had this a couple of months ago I couldn't breathe in deeply and felt like I'd been stabbed.it became so painful it often had me in tears. After a quick trip to the doctor I was told it was inflammation of the rib muscle or cartilage called /costochondritis. Treatment was anti inflammatories. But best get docs advise I think though .
When I had a very similar persistent pain it turned out to be pleurisy...gp treated me with long dose antibiotics & the pleurisy did clear up...but while I had this I felt extremely fatigued (even more than usual), even more lethargic than usual...and was no good for anything but curling up on the sofa...asleep much of the time. This was in the bad years...when my multisystem debilitation had progressed prior to my infant onset lupus diagnosis being recovered in 2010-11...so when I had this I wasn't on prescription immunosuppression. Hope that's useful in some way to you

I have this which is there most of time but then comes back with a vengeance when I do anything like hoover (good excuse not to) it has reduced me to tears at night when trying to sleep or sneeze. I have no lung symptoms. Gp says nothing.
It is something I get from time to time, too, and I just take it easy and it goes eventually or has so far, fingers crossed!
Any pain in your chest you should seek medical advice ASAP.
