Hello everyone,
My heart rate is always high. I am wondering if it common in lupus or I should be worried.

How high? And is it stable at the rate? Some people just have high heart rates.
113 heart rate.
Does this help?

It is certainly a commonly asked question.
Don'tthink so
I don't have a high hart rate but I do get ventricular tachycardia and have had for 8 years I've had to stop my methatrexate for 12 months as I've mentioned in previous posts and the tachycardia has got more frequent but go and get it checked out
It was one of the first things that “clued” me in that something was wrong. I was very fit, but my resting heart rate was in the 90s. It should have been closer to 55-60. Since going full flare my heart is definitely taken a hit. I’m going to speak to the doc about it. Given yours is so high, I would get checked out ASAP.
My resting heart rate is about 80-90. When I was in flare it was at 150 and I ended up in the cardiac ward. Now it’s back to the 80-90.
I think it's pretty common. It will make you feel better to get it checked out. Mine was decided as IST (inappropriate sinus tachycardia) - Which just means there's no good reason for it, but it's not dangerous. It's pretty uncomfortable when it gets over 110. If I try to exercise, it gets to the 130s/140s pretty quickly and i get dizzy. In my case, it's "normal" for me.
Hi Tulipano,
Have you discussed this with your GP or rheumatologist?
It is important to notify your doctor about the symptoms you are experiencing as he/she can provide you with the correct advice and treatment (if required).
We published a factsheet about ‘LUPUS: The Heart and Lungs’ which you can read here: lupusuk.org.uk/wp-content/u...
Please let us know how you get on, all the best.
When I am having a flare up I notice my heart rate is increased, even resting (90's or low 100's). I had an echocardiogram and 24 hr monitoring but they didn't find anything serious. I think my case is related to my lupus somehow but I don't know the cause! When I am not flaring, my heart rate is back to normal.
