Strange mark

Does anyone know what this is? I noticed it this evening because it was slightly itchy. It looks like a blood blister but is more red. I did have several bouts of severe eczema towards the end of last year and the beginning of this one and it was much worse on my legs than anywhere else. It's not sore or painful and it isn't a mole x

Looks like one of those darned marks you get as you get older I'm afraid.

Mention it to your GP next time you need to see him/her, but don't worry about it....a bit of cosmetic concealer will hide it if you are very conscious of it.

Thank you. I do seem to be having some sort of flare and my butterfly rash is very noticeable. There has been some hallunatory episodes recently, too. I'm not diagnosed as there were no corresponding antibodies 2 years ago when I was tested x

Difficult to see from a photo - but it looks like petechiae or purpura (the different names refer to different sizes).

There are due to the tiniest capillaries in the skin being broken and bleeding or simply leaking. The Mayo article explains them.
