Throat discomfort
Hello runny,
Sorry to hear you are finding things difficult. Do you want to say a bit more about what you are finding difficult - and maybe what you have tried so far?
x
Sored throat, tremor, sored mouth, difficulty in breathing, chest discomfort
Most people with lupus or a related condition are put on steroids (like prednisolone) and an immune regulator like hydroxychloroquine. Have you? And for how long? What is the problem you are struggling with most, and what do you think this forum might be able to help you with? x
Been on the tabs for two weeks, didn't know had the rash four months ago but thought it was just mere rash. Tremors, Breathing and swallowing difficulty. What can I do to ease those
Thanks runny,
I had breathing difficulties at first due to inflammation of my lungs. The prednisolone (15mg a day) plus hydrocychloroquine (this takes a few months to work) reduced it very effectively. Since you are newly diagnosed, I would suggest that you return to your specialist - or at least your family doctor - and discuss things with them. Treatment with steroids only may not be enough? x
Thanks I am on prednisolone 30mg and hydrocychloroquine and vitamins and antibiotics
OK - as you may know, it does take the hydroxy several months to work, so it might be that it hasn't kicked in yet?
You might find the LupusUK leaflets helpful - there's one on lung and heart issues (number 13)

Hi Runny,
Welcome to the LUPUS UK HealthUnlocked Community!
Have you spoken to your GP or rheumatologist about this? According to The Lupus Encyclopedia, a sore throat in a person with SLE can be treated with steroids and other anti-inflammatory medications.

If in doubt, it is always worth speaking to your doctor about the symptoms you are experiencing as he/she can provide you with the correct advice and treatment. Also, the doctor may refer you to a specialist such as physiotherapist or pulmonary specialist if required (breathing difficulties).
Please let us know how you get on, wishing you all the best.
