Hi all. Does anybody know anything about anti cardiolipin levels. Normal range is up to 10. 8 months ago my level was 199. It has slowly come down to 35 but in my last blood test it has now started to go up again. I’ve been diagnosed with vasculitis but two doctors have different views on whether I have lupus. Thank you.

Hi,
Yes anticardilipin antibodies are to do with Antiphospholipid syndrome / Hughes syndrome. You must have bloods taken and received positive results 12 weeks apart.
I have APS alongside my lupus and they are common together. You said docs have differing opinion, is that your rheumatologist?

Thanks for reply. Yes rheumatologist said he’s not 100% it’s lupus but thinks it may be in time. Dermatologist said no doubt in his mind it’s lupus. Bloods have been high for over 8 months now. I was covered head to toe in a rash at the beginning of the year. Definite vasculitis too and other things.
It may be primary antiphospholipid syndrome (where it’s not attributed to lupus) APS does have some symptoms that are common in lupus, like fatigue, brain fog etc. I am surprised your rhuemy hasn’t mentioned APS as a diagnosis as you should be taking precautionary treatment. You can find more info here.

Someone has already suggested the forum on here for APS and I must say they are brilliant people. Worth joining.
