I am 27 in the Royal Navy and am being downgraded at work which won't change anything g for me just means I won't be sent away !i have to wait until December for Neurologist appointment and feel some days I should t be here!will I be medically discharged if I have lupus as well as hashimotos and hypothyroidism??i want to leave anyway but wondered if medical discharge would be an option !
Hi I have Hashimotos Lupus and myositis. Tbh I think I had Lupus before Hashimotos but was diagnosed with hypothyroidism first. And I now have myositis also.
I think it's a case of which came first the chicken or the egg? Who knows we just have to be glad when we finally get a diagnosis, which takes time and receive treatment in the hope we can get all our autoimmune diseases under control and managed.
So many of our symptoms overlap and are similar it's a process of tests and eliminations to get to a diagnosis. However treatment should and is required even before that based on various tests and symptoms.
Can you go off sick I know since my diagnosis in January 2016 I've been unable to work and it now looks like I'll be on long term sick until all 3 are managed effectively.
