I'm still me

This quote is something that I've had to read a lot recently, especially over the last few days and I just wanted to share it with everyone.

Sometimes it's difficult to remember who you were before Lupus, it can change you so much.

But Lupus cannot be everything that you are, as difficult as it can be it cannot determine every part of your life. Don't lose who you are, even in the middle of your worst flares you have to remember all the good days even if they are few and far between.

I hope you are all keeping as well as you can❤

Identity is a funny thing, isn't it, and we all have different ways of seeing Lupus in relation to ourselves. Of the many things I've read, some people see it as an invader or something external or separate from us. I tend to see it as part of me, something my own cells and body has produced.

I wonder how others see it?

Yeah everyone has their own take on it depending on how they deal with things. But like you I see it as a part of me, it's something that's going to be with us for the rest of our lives but it's just not all that we are.

Thank you for sharing that post, its positive and reminded me that there is more to me than just a condition that I live with ..

I'm just getting over the 2nd flare in 10 months and taking long hard look at life and possibilities and coping strategies

Stay well 🙂

Is a lovely quote. I often introduce myself as 'me and lupus'. When I do or say weird things. My sister will say don't worry is lupus not you lol. Have to find the fun side of lupus. My sister and I blame lupus on all my mistakes. Is great. Is not me is lupus:-) I get away with everything. Lupus has become this imaginary friend.
