Be very careful in the sun LouLamb. It's still very hot in Lanzarote in September & you don't want to get sunburned and spoil your holiday. LOTS of suntan lotion....at least Factor 30 or higher if you burn easily....buy it in UK (expensive in Lanzarote) & pack it in your suitcase well wrapped up in a sealed plastic bag in case it should leak. You will need at least two bottles for two weeks. ...& wear a sun hat!
Remember you can only take liquid & creams in bottles of 100 ml in your carry on bag........security will confiscate bigger bottles.
I used Aldi Factor 30 sun lotion in Tenerife in May this year & didn't burn at all. But there are plenty of reasonably priced lotions in Boots. I'm back off there tomorrow....so my suntan lotion is packed! I hope you have a lovely holiday.
Have agreat holiday LouLamb I know how much you have been looking forward to this.
Just remember all your meds are packed in well in hand luggage so you have them handy and just in case suitcase goes amiss.Take copy of prescription in case you need to get further supplies whilst away.
Have you a european health card , you can go on line an request one for free and they usually arrive very quickly. You can access gp for frree if you feel unwell , obviously serious problems would be different . I have had to use it several times in spain and it made such a difference. Hopefully none of that will be necessary and you have a fabulous holiday ☀️☀️🛫🏝🏖
Enjoy your holiday! How lovely. I will look forward to reading all about your experience.
Going on holiday abroad is one of my goals. Once I get there I will know, and appreciate, how far I have come. In the sense of getting back to reasonable health, I mean! Lol
* I take a hand held parasol Factor 50+ for times when you can't find shade - queuing etc
*Your meds (in hand luggage. I know some people take 2 sets of meds - one in hand luggage and one in suitcase to check-in - that way if one gets lost you ahve the other supply. But if taking one set, put it in hand luggage and keep it close)
*Your repeat prescription
*I take a letter from my consultant - just a copy that they send to me, addressed to my GP, setting out my diagnosis and meds - usually at the top of the letter - just in case I am stopped at customs/security etc - I then have a letter confirming my lupus and meds and along with my repeat just makes me feel that I can explain all those tablets I am carrying if I need to!
*Your European Health Card
*Your Travel Insurance documentation
*Pace yourself! I usually do a day trip or go out and then next day chill with a book
*Sit under umbrellas when eating in the midday sun
