Sorry to hear you're in pain. Can i ask what that means, that your hands are drawing? x
Hi Wtellis,
I am sorry to hear you are experiencing symptoms that are affecting your hands and feet. Have you discussed this with you GP or rheumatologist?
In lupus the joints can become inflamed causing pain and swelling. The joints most frequently involved in this inflammation or arthritis are the hand joints, the wrists and the knees, although any joint can be involved. To find what treatment is available for the joints in lupus, you can read our factsheet ‘LUPUS: The Joints and Muscles’ here: lupusuk.org.uk/wp-content/u...

I saw my GP a month ago about severe pain in my wrists and fingers. I was given a steroid injection which did help. The effects didn't last however and I saw him again yesterday. I am beings referred for an ultrasound of my wrists and fingers. This is apparently a really good way to find out if there is inflammation in the joints. I also have the same problem in my toes and ankles.
