Urine sample times

Hi guys

Just wondering when is a good time to get a urine sample for protein loss

Ov first thing in a morning my protein loss is higher on the dipstick afternoon evening lower but when is the best time to take a urine sample for the hospital to test ?

I read on the internet after your first wee on a morning drink a full glsss of water then wait for a hr and use that sample

Any thoughts ??

is a detailed discussion about the sort of urine sample to be used. Itisn't mega complex though! They suggest the first or second morning urines for protein estimation.

But the people to ask really is the lab where it will be looked at - I would phone the hospital and ask. But otherwise - you could take both the first and second urines - covers all bases.
