Just waiting to be discharged from hospital after recent second heart attack , so thought a quick update was in order.
Had an angiogram yesterday and it has been found that my lupus is causing inflammation in my hearts vessels. This is causing the pain and the palpatations because they are swelling and reducing blood flow. They have requested that I see the lupus department at MRI because my lupus in definitely not under control.
Going to see my GP next week to see about referral. Just hoping that I can get seen soon and some help with dealing with this awful disease. I just feel like I am dealing with one health crisis after another and not getting any of the help I need.
Feeling very tired and tearful at the moment even though basically it is good news and I haven't had any more blockages and treatment is with medicine and not a huge operation like last time.
Will keep you all informed and thank you for all your support and messages it really does help.
Thanks vvvv much for this news...you've been on my mind, Karen....am giving you a big long virtual hug right now & on & on π·π·π·π·π·. This is very tough stuff you're enduring...am relieved cardiology is figuring out underlying causes....and I will be dismayed if Rheumatology doesn't step up & see you SOON...certainly if the system offers you months of waiting, this needs direct action: human beings in authority @ your clinic will be honour bound to see you soon if only because of cardiology' findings.
I was diagnosed 4 years ago, but think I have had it longer. It was only when I was getting progressively worse that I went to my GP. Luckily she did blood tests straight away and refered me to rheumatology.
