Test for lupus

Hi I am just in the process of having test done for lupus. I have been suffering from joint pain and pain pressure points. One of my GP s has sent me to a vascular surgeon to which they are operating on me in February for varicose veins. I have had both my hands operated on for carpal tunnel syndrome and I've had a hysterectomy in the last twelve months. I have been suffering from chest pains, a raised heart rate, high blood pressure, also tested positive for hyperthyroidism and low on vitamin d and waiting for ana test . On the last occasion on visiting my GP he noticed I had a butterfly rash he asked me how long I had it but I just thought it was roseacia as I had been told by another GP thats what I had and he treated me with oxytetracycline for eighteen months . Would just love to know all the test results now as I am on edge every day, but need to have a second round of blood tests in two weeks .

Wow! Just this past Spring I was diagnosed with low vitamin D levels and then a few months later diagnosed with hypothryoidism, too. Now this! I think I have roseacia as well but now you have me thinking! I test positive for ana then negative. My rhuematologist is wonderful. She is basing my diagnosis off of both blood and symptoms. Your list could be mine plus a few others that have attached themselves. I have had Hypothyroidism for a few decades, was diagnosed with RA five years ago, sicca syndrome four years ago, have GI and neuro problems, facial rashes (rosacea or butterfly) for most of my life until menopause - now only if I've got a drug allergy and defintely not roseacea. I finally got rediagnosed with primary Sjogrens Syndrome earlier this year.

So hormone changes play a significant part for good and bad in all this stuff, as do our genes and key life events. Keep an open mind and best of luck. Let us know how you get on.
