ANA test

My results are back on the NHS app with a lab comment of ‘positive, ANA titre = 80’ with a further test for serum ANA pattern as ‘speckled’ yet HCP comment is ‘normal, no further action required’. Does anyone have any experience or advice please? Thank you in advance.

hi I’ve just been diagnosed with lupus via positive ANA test ! Only symptoms are the sun burning my neck and chest and my glands swell !! No medication given at the moment as I don’t have any other symptoms? Is there medication for this sun allergy ??? Thank you for any help !!!

I have had one positive ana test ,three months later had another one that was negative?I have a rash on my cheeks &nose & forehead, pain in my hands& fingers &toes feels like frostbite, my legs feel really heavy, pain in my stomach & chest pain, sensitive to sunlight & bright lights.

But I guess I'm trying to figure out do I ask to see a specialist or for an ana test or both?? Any advice/help gratefully received Thank you

Blood work was done— ANA test came back negative with no inflammatory markers in the blood work. However, I still have concerns for something cutaneous. Doctors don’t seem to think it’s lupus but I feel like I’m doing more work then them lately to get to bottom of this.

When tested I proved to have a ‘weak positive ANA test’. What, if anything does that mean?

I have all the usual symptoms of Lupus with a negative ANA test. I've been ill for the past 5/6 years to the point that I had pneumonia so bad they thought I had cancer and removed the upper lobe of my lung.

I had private test done because been suffering with raynolds symptons for over 39 years but gp wont diagnose me. My symptons where getting really bad. The did test and said every thing came bk normal. Has private blood test done it shows my titre level high 1:5290. Am just worried my gp wont knowlegde

Constantly have slightly positive ANA test. I’m with rheumatology, immunology and waiting to hear back from dermatology. Rheumatology kinder tried to brush me off didn’t really want take responsibility for me.

My drs think it’s lupus I have so many of the symptoms but my ana test was negative. My kidney function test was satisfactory. . so the rheumatologist wanted me to have x rays for my wrist pain. Awaity results. This week Iv started to feel very unwell again kidney pain!

I have had a positive ANA test with speckled pattern but no other test carried out afterwards. Discharged from rhumatology and now just under physiotherapy. They are looking to put me into a spinal pain clinic. My question is I've started to come out in rashes the last few months.

She's requested (I think) an ANA test and I understand from googling that if the ANA is positive it then gets sent for ENA testing as well? I'm not sure what the process is but it's been 2 weeks and I've still not had any results which is just driving me insane.

He also tested negative for ANA test twice now. Everyone is telling me to stay calm but I just can’t. the rash started out as bright red blotches. Over the past couple of weeks the Marks dried out a little bit and started to blend and look something like this (see attached photo).

My wife is having a nagging health issue that is still unidentified, only visible thing is I have chronic inflammation and iron deficiency anemia but my other tests are normal like Ana test, HPLC TEST, LDH, LFT, KFT, cholesterol, thyroid, hba1c and fasting blood suger everything is normal only lower

I have had umpteen tests and scans all coming back normal, bar a positive ANA test in June that didn't point to anything specific. Other than that, only my thyroid stuff had been out - unfortunately T3 wasn't tested until I started reading this forum and requested it.

Of course it is never lupus, but the irony is, when you don’t tests positive on ANA - it can’t be lupus. BUT, if people test positive for ANA, you are told it can’t be lupus because people without it can test positive. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ No wonder it is almost impossible for people to be diagnosed.

The ANA test result picked up speckling on my Hep-2. I was not given this test result for over 10 months. It was found by myself whilst going through a pile of results printed out for me by accident by the deputy manager of my primary care centre.

My gp sent me for a ANA blood test which came back negative. She has referred me for a rheumatology appointment before the results came back, but I don't want to waste the rheumatology appointment. Has anyone else been diagnosed with a negative blood test?

Good afternoon, My doctor has been helping me with some ongoing symptoms, and following a positive ANA test has now referred me to a rheumatologist, theorising I may have Lupus.

They then looked at my bloods in a different way and said I had a positive ANA test. They started hydroxychloroquine and methotrexate. Initially hydroxy helped with the hair loss, psoriasis on my scalp but it wasn’t touching my joints yet.
