Does anybody get a sore throat after talking? I was catching up with an old school friend when I noticed that my throat as getting quite sore. Oh no, I thought, I hope I'm not getting a cold. But as soon as we said goodbye and I was quiet for a bit it went away. Very odd!

Do you get a lot of general dryness in your throat? Replacing moisture can be general problem and talking adds to it. My head normally gives out before my throat.
Hello. Yes, I tend to get sore throats, but mainly when flaring. I had the worst sore throat ever when I was diagnosed and had done for months and months. It felt like I had swallowed razor blades and cut my throat to shreds. I didn't like it to my lupus immediately. I actually got referred to ENT for the camera up your nose and down your throat thing to check it out. They found nothing. Said it didn't even look red or inflamed. I felt cheated. The pain was incredible. But I never came down with anything either. I hope you feel better soon. Best wishes.
I have signs of Sjogren's syndrome and this happens to me. There isn't enough moisture in the mouth and the little that is there evaporates when your mouth is open, making your throat feel dry and sore.
Sometimes, it feels like something has hit the back of my mouth and I start coughing and choking uncontrollably.
Try a mouth moisture spray to help keep that to a minimum.
Yes I do (I have UCTD) and also my voice disappears if I'm very tired. I have a dry mouth too, maybe these symptoms are connected. I can't do anything more about it than keeping my throat moist. It is really bad if it is so painful that it wakes me up at night. I also learned to cope with it...
