I would appeal it's a disgrace the way this Tory government treats people who are struggling and ask citizen advise if they can help or phone up health unlocked and speak to a advisor hope you get on ok
I know i cant believe it, didn't think it would actually be this hard to claim for benefits sick people are entitled too, they have there morals all completely wrong.
Appeal, appeal and appeal again. I had to go through 3 appeals and then still lost but went from zero points to 7 in daily living and 4 in mobility. Then when I reapplied with up to date evidence (lots of it!) I won. I will warn you, it takes time and lots of people give up.
PIP is a nightmare but you need to make sure you have representation (it's free) and get help to complete any forms etc.
On a side note: PIP can be claimed whether or not you are working as it's for all disabled people affected doing daily activities or with mobility issues. If you cannot work then ESA and other supports like housing benefit etc are what you -also need to claim. Please make sure to take legal advice and get a benefits check done.
Get yourself over to the website benefitsandwork and they have guides online that take you through the process of appealing. You do have to pay £20 for membership but their advice is valuable for anyone on benefits.
They also help you complete the many forms that they send out as well as how to do the face to face assessments, and what they look for.
You need to copy all your hospital letters that back up your health story and send it with a letter explaining how your illness affects you day to day and what you are unable to do etc. That will then be a big chunk towards your appeal.
