I applied for pip august 2013 I finally got my reply today, they refused my claim, they gave me a break down of my needs and said I scored 7 points..the dwp said they will ring me 2 discuss the decision. As the decision may be over turned
after a discussion with me..they said you need to score 8 points..there were a few points they were missing for example social engagement I did stress that I have a very painful jaw and this can affect my social interactions as. Very painful to talk and make conversation..im really anxious..any advice has anyone been in this situation, any advice will be appreciated

Sorry at your PIP outcome. As it was very close you may want to Appeal. If you do, don't do it alone, your local Citizen's Advice Bureau will be able to help you. Good luck for Monday when you phone them. X
Hi Jeevan05 - it sounds like you may be in with a chance if you can have a discussion with them and highlight things that have been overlooked. Dare I say it - write a list - lol, let them know how the illness affects you which I believe is more important that the actual illness.
They will be interested to know things you cannot do because of your illness, or indeed need help to do.
I've not gone thru the PIP transition yet - but attended an ESA tribunal with someone recently and in their situation they didn't score enough points but were awarded under Regulation 35 which meant they had exceptional circumstances - so my point is - ask them when they ring if a similar arrangement exists with PIP. It's got to be worth a try.
Good luck, please do let us know how it goes when you've had the telephone call.
Thanx so much slowmo, im making my list now..because U do forget..i will let U know how I get on after I ring them. I do feel that there's no understanding for (lupus sufferers..t.c xxx
