Hi bee21a,

Zentiva has the same formulation as Plaquenil. You can read more about this here - healthunlocked.com/lupusuk/...

Continuing discussion about availability of hydroxychloroquine in the US. One so-called brand-name Plaquenil is sold by some pharma chains at a cost of some $250-$300 for 30 tablets. Prasco Labs labels the drug PLAQUENIL. Hydroxychloroquine, manufactured by Covis/Concordia, is a tablet identical in both composition and appearance, and it is available for less than 10% of the cost of the same quantity of the so-called brand-name. It is the SAME DRUG, period. Though I am reluctant to claim that patients are being defrauded, caveat emptor. Stick to hydroxychloroquine.

That is exploitation!

I agree. If a patient is foolish enough to accept a script for PLAQUENIL, s/he is being defrauded both by the doc and by the pharmacy. We must educate ourselves to the max. Prescribing hydroxychloroquine, my doc clued me in. An experienced pharmacist confirmed. Still suffering from side effects at the 6-week mark, but those seem to be abating. Have used SEA BANDS, anti-nausea wristbands for queasiness and occasionally take Prevacid for GERD.

Sandoz generic Hydroxychloriquine worked well but not available so I am taking Prasco generic and it is not working for me. I need to find another generic for Hydroxychloriquine, any suggestions?

What country are you in please? You may need to contact a lupus charity in your country for advice on this I'm afraid because availability differs in different places.

I was given a brand of Hydroxychloriquine at the hospital after diagnosis, not quite sure of branding.bthink it was white box red writing, I noticed very early on that i was feeling mentally more alert, and my aches were easing in just 4 weeks. I have since been given a prescription ftom the gp or quinoric and feel terrible after 1 week of taking this.

I know they say it takes 12 weeks but i really seemed to be picking up.

There must be something different in these tablets for sure although there both hydroxycloriquine
