Has anyone ever experienced pain behind their ribs quite high under bust on the right hand side ? I've had this for about a week now weirdly worse when I bend becomes a hot stabbing pain!
Wondering if I should take myself the GP or not ?

I get pain under my right rib cage. Gallbladder. It comes and goes depending on what I eat. I think. I had pain in my left rib cage a couple of weeks ago where I couldn't breathe deeply. Apparently, it was just gas. Weird. I did small circle rolls over the area my sister taught me, she does for her intestines. It went away after I did that. So annoying. Hope you find some answers
Hi Natura! Question regarding the small circle rolls. How often do you do them, and for how long at a time? I have heard about doing this, but never any details about it. Thanks in advance for your response.
Sue....I think clockwise..I just make small circles and then go around clockwise with them around abdominal area or where it hurts. You can do that until pain subsides. I think what my sister said it moves things around. Inside. It couldn't hurt to try. If it doesn't work, dr is probably needed. High on the right side under bust is possibly gallbladder. Might need a sono to make sure no stones. I got a sono when I had that, no stones. I am starting to think it's just inflammation of the gall bladder. Watch what you eat...not too many baked goods, I think. I am not a doctor, this is all trial and error for me. Just sharing what happens to me.
I get pain in rib area - very sharp, and was told it was costochondritis - inflammation of the cartilage between the ribcage. Usually lasts a couple of weeks before settling down. Rest and anti-inflammatories help a bit. I'd get it checked out with GP though just to be sure.
I get pain like this but on the left hand side. Back also is very sore, under the ribs on the same side, but almost constantly. I have no diagnosis of SLE or anything else but am being investigated at the moment. My GP has referred me for a CT scan because of this pain but I have no appointment yet.
I have been getting the same pain for the last two nights, I had to find different ways to sleep in the bed. Last night I had to get up to take two paracetamols as the pain was too much. I eventually got some sleep at about 8am this morning. I thought maybe it was just gas under my ribs but it felt like any time I laid down some one was on my chest, so I had to get up again and sit in the bed. I feel better in the day time but the night time is the worst. I hope that it doesn't last too long. It goes from under my ribcage around to my back. I had a chinese yesterday with my friend so I don't know if that is anything to do with it.
Thanks everyone, I've been to seen the nurse practitioner today as she is doing post op care on my skin graft. Asked her about the pain and location she thinks it is possibly my gall bladder she said see if it gets worse to go back
