I understand this completely. I get no feelings of hunger, thirst, fullness or whatever.
I almost died, but luckily, I found good complementary therapists who helped me.
Even now I live on a very restricted diet of whole/organic food when I can get it, but it does restrict me for going away or eating out - these are luxuries in the past for me now.
I went down to 5 stone 10 and my GP diagnosed depression and anorexia, which I knew were both wrong, but I was so ill and tired I couldn't stand up for myself.
Thanks to complementary therapists, eventually, I came to my senses and came off all the drugs prescribed for depression, anaemia, asthma, thrombocytosis, etc. which probably was a very dangerous thing to do, but I felt I was dying anyway, so why not die aware.
I gave the therapists a hard time in that I took a nonchalant attitude to it all and saw the funny side believe it or not.
It has taken me years to get back to around 8 stone, but I still have to be very careful what I eat and it seems will do for the rest of my life.
Something obviously set off a very difficult health problem for me, but I am still here and am thankful for that every day.
P.S. forgot to say - good luck and will be very interested to read what you are diagnosed with!
I don't know what medications you are on but I've been having the same problem. I'm new to this illness as I just started getting bad this year. So we have been trying different medications to try to control the pain. Every time I get on strong anti inflammatories I feel that way. Smells of food turn my stomach, then I think I'm hungry and try to eat and can only take a few bites because the food makes me sick. I've tried experimenting with natural inflammation treatments. Once of the prescription strength meds my appetite comes back but so does the pain. I've gone 2 days without the medication and it has been so nice to eat like a normal person, but now my pain is becoming terrible.
