Hey everyone, just wanted to say my steroids are finally being reduced! i'm now on just 20mg prednisolone! and think my face is finally starting to go back to normal... kinda lol x x x

I know just how you feel! I have been completely off them for almost a year and what a joy not to have a big fat face!! LOL!

There is only one way from now on and that is better and better!!!

Well done! Ive been trying to get off the steriods for 5 years now....my dosage is currently down to 5MG daily from 60MG! Its been a slow process but i might actually get there this year.

Congratulations. I got off steroids after being on them many years but after a very bad infection last November it was found that I was cortisone dependent and my body is not able to produce enough cortisol when I am ill. So while i am disapointed that I will need to now stay on steroids it is a very low dose of 7.5mg prednisolone which doesn't give me the puffy face.

Yes I came off steroids in Oct last year - but due to an infection at Christmas had to restart them again 4 weeks ago. I was prescribed 20mg per day and this was to be reduced by 5mg each week. I am now down to 5mg per day and have been told to expect that I will be on this for a further 6 months. However, re the side affects - the steroids do seem to give me wings lol!

Great news. I'm down to 10 from 60 but no signs of moon face disappearing yet! Doc says I should hopefully see a difference over the next few weeks but we'll have to see how I cope with joint pain since they are being reduced. Won't miss the hairy moon face or shot putter body I have to say!
