I have darker patches of skin on my face that I never had before Lupus, they move around as they were first on my forehead and now on my chin! And it's not just my skin dropping with age :?
Any other similar experiences? I'm on MMF, Hdroxy and Prednisolone.

Hi, I've had facial pigmentation for the last 4 years. I'm on predisolone & azathriprine, docs have avoided the antimalerials as I had the pigmentation before any drugs and have mentioned such drugs can onset the patches or make them worse, so with me, they didn't want up the risks of skin disease. It's worth a mention to your doc and don't forget your sun stick, I use factor 50 kids stuff, it helps a little.
There is also a cream available to bleach them out, but only on private script, I will repost the name when I'm home. x
As promised, my consultant dermatologist...who is absolutely the most fab guy when it comes to skin!!
He says in the letter to my GP that he recommends Pigmanorm to treat Melasma, which is only available on private prescription. He told me that it costs about £50, but really really works better than any other.
I've yet to get some, but anything is worth a try, rather than having these darker marks, they make me look older!!
The one on my forehead looks like a barcode, my bf tried to scan it with his iphone, but it didn't come up with a price x
I don't know about the Hydroxy, apart from, they wont even think about letting me use it, due to the pigmentation that was already presented just due to the SLE, for fear of making it worse....although reading up about the azathrioprine, I have a few questions when I go back next week, as it seems like it has the same warnings lol
So best to show/ask doc or dermatologist? if you have one.
And although I don't have a homer lol I'm the not so proud owner of a not so beautiful pigment moustache
I was using skinoren cream previous to diagnosis and that did work to a certain extent, was better than nothing.
I just googled the magic ointment and seems like after a bit of peeling and burning, its been working for others....looking like it might be worth the £50 before the sun comes out again.
I am on Hydroxy,Prednisolone plus analgesia and antibiotics at the moment due to recent complications and hospital stay. Pigmentation was there before meds
I have terrible pigmentation all over my face and neck I didn't realise or was never told it could be the lupus causing it, but then again I have just been "un-diagnosed " so therefore with not having lupus any-more ????????
