I am on similar meds 30/500 cocodamol, bit of an extra hit! but they don't touch the pain in hands. Sometimes I cannot unfold fingers at all and it can be either hand. Sometimes only one finger but often the index on right hand so I think using a computer mouse and the 'clicking' may be doing it. Left hand it is the thumb at base, pain and stiffness means I can't move it some days, but always hurts. Like you I am getting worried about work, only thing that works is to immobilise the fingers in a compression bandage. But it starts up again after a few days.. so? This is a newish problem in last couple of months. GP says its just a symptom of lupus... Will tell Rheumy in 2 weeks, but is there any help for it, really don't want to be like this for ever!
Yes, I have trouble with fingers. Usually middle finger on right hand, but sometimes ring finger as well. Will sometimes give trouble at night by cramping when I straighten it out. Some sort of tendon thing I think, but I also have Reynauds. I find high dose ibruprofen helps, and very warm water to soak hand in, then gentle exercise - bit of knitting. It comes and goes. If you get a bad day then try and rest the hand next day if possible. It will flare like any other symptom, but will also go away too. Don't despair.
Yes, I get painful fingers, too, sometimes with vessels bursting and them turning blue or going completely white. My middle long right finger is especially sore and I have a strange nail which doctors have not been able to help me with - clotrimazole didn't help and nor did Loceryl, though expensive - the same as curanail in the chemist. I had a scan and there was no sign of anything - cyst, abscess, splinter, infection, etc, but then my husband watched 'Embarassing Illnesses' and said that it was on there and it is called nail psoriasis. I have looked it up and it is the nearest thing to mine I have seen so far - but, guess what - no cure, just recommended a healthy diet, so doing my best!!!!
