I have been pretty wiped out for the last week, so so tired. I have just started to get a lot of pain in what seems like my skin. It is mainly on my arms. It is so sore to touch or put clothes against, even spraying deodorant hurts. It almost feels like your skin is on fire. Has anybody else experienced this at all.
Skin soreness: I have been pretty wiped out for the... - LUPUS UK
Skin soreness
I have the same problem, along with peeling skin. The burning skin is worse on my right arm and at times it drives me mad. I have an appointment with my dermatologist later this week and will ask her about it. If I forget to post back, please remind me! My appt is on Thursday. I have skin cancer on the right arm, so I thought that's what was causing it-duh-damn lupus!
I get this sometimes and was told once that it was myelitis (? spelling). I get it one legs and arms and bottom of back, feels like skin is so sore but not much to see. Seems to go of its own accord eventually.
Hope this helps.

I often get this can't bear anything against me, even sitting hurts, The only way I can describe it is like when you are getting a cold and everything seems to ache, I usually get like this just before I flare, Hope you feel better soon xx
I also get this and it is very uncomfortable. No one as given me an answer except it could be my fibromyalgia. It flits around on legs, lower back and arms. Then it can just dissappear. Very strange nothing to show if you look. I don't think people believe you if you cant see anything but it is real. Not sure what you can do about it. Good luck and keep positive.
Oh my! I have awful skin which looks and feels burnt, is VERY sore and extremely itchy. I put this down to transplant meds but am rapidly reaching the conclusion that its caused by whatever the water authority adds into our water supply. When i'm abroad on holiday my skin heals up and i don't get that burning i get after a bath and hairwash in this country. I have emmolients from my dermotologist for the bath which slightly help. I feel case prooved when i returned from Rome after Christmas having had good skin out there. First bath and hairwash produced a nasty allergic reaction, i looked burnt, had fluid bags under eyes and face swelling and another day off work. We are going to put an inline filter on the water supply which hopefully will stop this. Have any of you fellow skin sufferers had similar experiences and what are your thoughts on whether you feel chemicals could be a problem. Hope my problem isn't that blooming Lupus up to no good!
Is any area puffy because if theres fluid retention that might explain the sensitivity (Ihave that in my left arm turns out theres narrowing of the blood vessels and it hurts like hell) or I have seen loads of pain guys for the last 12 yrs becauseof chest wall pain only on the left and I was told fibroma-thingy and all sorts but best explaination I had was when the brain receives pain signals for awhile the gate ways can stay open so the brain still believes pain but theres nothing to see. Now saying that ive found and please try small area first is either tiger balm white or red(white more menthol and milder) or voltarol gel which is a pain killer it is absorbed through the skin and works on joints and anywhere i get an ache or pain or creepy skin. If you do react youcan wash it off sometimes I react for no reason hence chop and change depending what you think. Good luck hope that helps
I have experienced a very mild form of what you are all describing. I did wonder if it was even linked to lupus but now I can see it probably is. My experience is better described as areas of skin which just feel over sensitive to the touch, usually it is my inner arms. What a strange condition we share!
Ok, so I actually remembered to ask my (US) dermatologist about this! She said yes, it is the lupus and it's another form of neuralgia (nerve pain) which is quite difficult to treat when it comes to skin burning. Sorry.
Hi all, I have had skin issues for over 6 years with my feet, very painful very hot in mornings, currently seeing a dermatologist who wants to perform a biopsy to eliminate any other skin conditions. He thinks it is down to my lupus! What can you do, keep ya head up
