GO2 for Lung Cancer is offering a 5-week virtual group called Mind Over Matter — where you will learn tips and tools to handle the big feelings, like fear, worry, and sadness, that often come up after a cancer diagnosis and treatment. Open to both those living with lung cancer or caring for someone who is.
What to Expect:
Each 90-minute session is interactive and focused on building practical coping tools:
Week 1 : The Mind-Body Connection- Learn about the connection between our thoughts, feelings, and body, including relaxation strategies to combat cancer-related stress.
Week 2: Our Values- Explore how we can make choices aligned with what is most important to us.
Week 3: Reframing-Learn how to use our personal strengths to gain a new perspective on challenging situations.
Week 4: Power of the Pause-Learn how to intentionally stop and pause during times of stress.
Week 5: Making a Plan- Create a plan for managing tough situations using all the new skills in your toolbox
When: Our next Mind Over Matter group will run on Tuesdays from May 13 to June 10.
Where: All sessions are held virtually. If you’re new to Zoom, we’re happy to help you get set up before the group starts.
Important Notes:
This program is open to U.S. residents only.
Group size is limited.
We ask that you commit to attending all five sessions if possible.
This is a skills-based group—not therapy or medical advice.
