Replacement compression socks

I am entitled to replacement socks every 6 months. From past experience (more than 10 years) I realise the socks are worn out by 4 months. I am at the stage where it is painful to walk and access to the clinic is difficult (as it is only manned l or 2 days a week). Do I go into hibernation for 2 months so how can I demonstrate my need? Would wearing two pairs of worn out socks help?

Can you phone them? They might be nice and order you some more. My sleeves are only really good for four months too and I've managed to sneak an order in with my GP slightly earlier than six months before. (Though I've not tried after only four.) Good luck!

I have managed to get a message to the clinic. They will see me at the end of the month. Here's hoping!

They used to about 10 years ago, but as with many "minor" facilities it's been streamlined and patients have to climb through many routes for success. The stockings are made to measure so anyone prescribing has to have had some particular training

Can you get the previous measurement forms from your clinic? Or the codes on a previous delivery? Then the GP will be able to prescribe on a normal system - like mine search’s for the Jobst products. They get me two or three pairs a year - toes and legs. And then whenever I go to St George’s they do as well because they stopped working with Jobst…

It looks like I've got some brain work before I get my legs working again. Thanks.
