Finally got my first appointment at the Lymphoedema Clinic on Jan 25th. Luckily its quite near me so not far to go. Not sure what to expect but am hopeful that this will get the ball rolling and give me the help/advice I need. Also would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Happy (pain free) Christmas. x
Appointment: Finally got my first appointment at the... - LSN
Appointment
Hi angie, my first app she checked all my family history ano height, weight etc then got me on the chair and checked the temperature and the condition of my skin and they were measured all the way up for my compressions and got me a prescription of doc for some cream and compressions and she told me how to apply cream properly and other do's & don't what you need to no.
It's nothing to worry about, hope this helps.
My 2nd visit she done an scan on my big toe to check my pulse and circulation before she told me how to put compressions on because I couldn't put them on until I had this test done.
Thanks for that Bev. I know its not going to be intrusive but am a little apprehensive about it all. Still trying to come to terms with it. But hey................... it could be worse
Yeh I could be worse, I have had it about 5-6 year but only diagnosed in Aug due to doc trying different things first thinking it was my arthritis, my meds and water retention, scans on my kidneys then oh it might by lymphoedema I will send you to get checked and waited 6 month for app for it, but now I no, so I'm still getting used to the idea and coming to terms with it, suppose it will take time but anything you want to no about there is helpful very lovely people on here always happy to help in any way they can. 😉
Ive only just got my GP to refer me and even then he questioned who had told me I have lymphoedema. It was the rheumatologist I saw in August this year after asking doctors to help with the swelling and pain and dry skin Ive had in my left foot since January. I know Ive probably got a wait until I get an appointment but at least I know I now have a chance of help. Thanks to Lynora for for the advice it made me push the GP in the right direction. Joolz.x
Only have praise for them. Miracle workers as far as I am concerned.
Hope everything works out for you xx
