Lipedema appointment

Hi everyone I'm so confused, I waited 18 months for an appointment..they checked my legs on a machine to measure fluid..weighed me measured my waist..and checked pulse points...thats it didn't even look at my arms,offer me compression or anything they just confirmed my diagnosis and discharged me with a letter to my gp?...I just don't see what I was waiting for all this time ?

Hi...Where were you diagnosed?

It may be that you have return to your GP for a referral to your Lymphoedema service. They can supply the compression garment and offer other advice on Lipoedema.

I was referred by my gp..got seen at a lmpheodema clinic at Derby hospital it was so strange.

Oh goodness that is a surprise. Didn't Derby give any suggestion of what will happen moving forward...have you got to contact your GP again?I think I would get in touch with your GP..

They just gave a little advice on weight and that's it they said they will write to gp on findings..I was waiting in the waiting room longer than the actual session

Also went to the lymphodema clinic in Derby, got the mention of weight and that was that - in 2018. My legs have got much worse and got to the stage where I cannot even get into a car. They were a bit iffy about my excuse but told them if I could not get into a car to travel 10 minutes to see my husband who was dying what makes them think I could travel for half an hour to go to a useless clinic.

Do let's us know how you get on.....you must be very frustrated but you are now in the 'system ' so to speak...hopefully it won't be long before your GP gets in touch.

Hey! Interesting I’ve never had the test for lymphoma with the water I was just seen by someone they looked at legs told me it was that sent me back to gp the. A lady rang me and told me they will order my stockings and that’s it I’ve had nothing else, do you think having the water measurement is worth it? If so do I ask the gp?
