Hello everyone, new here. I haven't been officially Diagnosed with Trunctal Lymphedema yet, but I'm pretty sure I have it... I need to make an appt. with my surgeon. I had Bil. Mastectomy Surgery 4/26/13 for cancer. I also have implants. The past week I have noted that my Rt. Breast is much larger then the Lt and firm. I have been using compression which helps but wondered if anyone was doing self massage with good results.
Rt Breast Swelling.: Hello everyone, new here. I haven... - LSN
Rt Breast Swelling.
kmenurse - are you in the US? If yes, see your surgeon - it could still be post-op edema, especially with implants. SLD may help - if you have a lymph therapist you can consult, get them to show you how to do it effectively.
Could it be a problem with the implant itself in your right breast? It might be worth getting that checked by your surgeon first?
I believe as you, I have an appt with my surgeon tomorrow morning. MRI if she agrees. The more I examined myself the more I thought it may be a response to the implant... I will post the doctors thoughts after my appt. 6-24-2016. It's just odd that after 3 years that I would have a problem now, but I also know that in my case nothing is ever as usual.
The more I examined myself the more I thought it may be a response to the implant... So I made an appt with my surgeon and it wasn't lymphadema... She feels that it's a possible rupture or as I feel that my body is rejecting the implant. It's just odd that after 3 years that I would have a problem now, but I also know that in my case nothing is ever as usual. I have rejected other medical materials... Such as meshes... So as for the implants I will have surgery to remove both..... Thanks everyone for your input!
