Hi does any have any comments about asthma inhalers and anxiety. I was never really an anxious person the kind of person that thought "$%#@ it I'll try it" without hesitation. Since starting symbicort I seem to be getting more anxious and have anxiety about really daft stuff. I was on seretide 250 for years and didn't seem to have issues psychologically. The back end of last year I had issues coming off prednisolone (12 weeks) doctors trial and that caused issues with anxiety. Thinking back now things really started when when I started this inhaler. It does seem to work a little better than seretide but the psychological issues are starting to ruin my life. I have an appointment with the therapist on Monday but in the face of it I seem a normal not anxious person. I'm having to hold it all in.
Thanks for reading

I have not long come out of hospital after pneumonia , I never knew I was asthmatic till when I was in there they told me I was
I now am on 2 inhalers , one is called Salbutamol and the other is Fostair , now whether they are giving me any side effects I don't know , I am feeling anxious any way as I have been so ill but I do know when you are asthmatic you do need your inhalers but if in time I felt I was getting side effects and one making my anxiety worse I would speak with my Doctor there are different one's they can put you on if one is not suiting you
Hi Dean, I also have Symbicort inhaler for my asthma, I've never had problems with it making me anxious. I do suffer from anxiety and depression and take Sertraline which works brilliantly for me. The worst thing is to hold your anxiety in, it just gets worse and worse, I know, I do it myself. Everyone at work thinks I'm always happy and confident, inside I'm anxious. If you want to talk anytime, I'm here.
I had to get off an inhaler because it was my anxiety worse. I spoke to my doctor about it and she felt horrible that she didn’t think of that issue before prescribing it to me. Talk with your doctor about other options.
