Anxiety back

Hi all,

I haven’t been on here for a long time but it seems my anxiety is back and I am not sure why or what to do about it. So I have been on Zoloft 150mg for a little over a year ago and have been doing great however I decided to start Keto to lose some wait and that’s where my problems started. I have been doing this 7 weeks now and last week had a few instances where my blood sugar dropped but it felt just like a panic attack! Now I have been waking up with heart palpitations, hot flashes, and shakes again. I had blood drawn and everything else looks good though. I also started a new birth control last week as well but 4 days in I stopped cause I wasn’t sure what was causing my symptoms. I am taking a magnesium and potassium supplement at night as well. I wish I would have never started this stupid diet and I don’t know what to do now. Anybody experience anything like this??

Hello Cares179

Sorry to hear your anxiety is back

I know only to well what those low sugar levels are like and yes they are like having a panic attack in fact sometimes they are so bad I am not sure if they are worse than a panic attack itself !

Eating something sugary quick usually gets mine settled again even though it takes a while , I used to get them a lot more than I do now and I wonder if it is our diet that is not quite the right balance that causes it or even if hormones play a part and because you have been dieting as well as taking a new pill it makes you wonder if one or the other is not suiting you

But if it were me I would stay on the Zoloft as they were helping , stop the other things maybe I was taking and then slowly introduce them back one by one so I could really put my finger on which one was maybe the culprit and then on avoid it

Dieting is usually safe as long as you have the right balance , there is a great slimming Community on here not sure if you are a member but I will pop you the link on and I bet they could also give you some great advise how to diet without getting these nasty sugar level drops :-)

You will get back on track and we are here if you need to talk , let us know how you get on :-)

Take Care x

Thank you so much lulu! You are right I’m not touching my Zoloft as I know it’s been working but I did go off the birth control pills cause I think this may be the culprit in regards to the panick attacks just hoping my hormone levels even out soon. I am also trying to snack every 2 hours to keep my sugar level as well. Thanks for the link I am checking that out today!

Keep in touch and let us know how you are :-) x

It's difficult to pinpoint which is the culprit when you've changed a few things within a tight time frame. I'd recommend going back to your Healthcare provider and discussing it. Don't forget you can negotiate changing medication especially if it's going potentially rock the boat. Be careful not to get pregnant in the meantime.

I hope you can find the equilibrium you had.
