I am to try plaquenil again and GP is happy. My script said hydroxychloroquine which is right but the pills I have been given say quinoric. I was expecting plaquenil I am not really keen to have a brand and not the pure form

Am I wrong?

Thanks Mary, my issue s from I can gather the pill actually named plaquenil is superior to quinoric due it seems to the fillers. I feel I want to start on plaquenil and stay on it if possible. I think I may go back to the chemist to swap but I don't think I will get far.

You would be best of tackling GP about it, after trying the chemist.. see what the pharmacist says, the head one.. that is where I would go first. Mary F x

Yep, mine was a local chemist. Bet I can guess what they will say.

Just asked my son about his and he found he got Plaquenil from Sainsburys and quinoric from Boots. So he is sticking with Sainsburys.

He says the prof wants us on the actual plaquenil.

Yes, I was given Plaquenil by my GP surgery.. I was dangerously allergic to it... however my daughter has it and is fine on it. Good luck. Mary F x

Hi Jade,

I had same thing when I first started on Plaquenil, I had to ask gp to write Plaquenil on the script, as some chemists where giving plaq and others quinoric, I did feel different so prefer Plaquenil.

Hopefully You're gp will change script for you hon!

Love n gentle hugs Sheena xxxxx :-) :-) :-)
